” The Next Generation of AT and eAccessibility Experts “
The Young Researchers’ Consortium (YRC) at ICCHP 2024 invites young researchers in Assistive Technology (AT), (e)Inclusion, and related fields to advance R&D, engage in international exchange, and connect with the global community.
Highlights
- Workshop Dates: July 8–9, 2024 (pre-conference).
- Cost Coverage: Participation and accommodation (5 nights) for up to 10 selected researchers.
- Participation Benefits:
- Learn from experienced researchers through presentations and hands-on workshops.
- Present your work and receive feedback from experts and peers.
- Discuss future trends in AT and contribute to a 10-year research agenda.
- Language: English
Eligibility
- Young researchers (typically under 30) working on their first or second major AT research project.
- Based at universities, research institutes, companies, or similar organizations.
- Must present original, individual work (group applications are not accepted).
- Preference for researchers with disabilities, ensuring an accessible experience.
Exclusions:
- Draft/idea-only projects or researchers with over five publications.
- Participants engaging in conflicting activities during YRC sessions.
How to Apply
- Submission Deadline: May 3, 2024
- Required Documents:
- Abstract (2–3 pages):
- Content: Introduction, motivation, research questions, state-of-the-art, methodology, and preliminary results (if applicable).
- Format: Springer LNCS, including screen-reader-friendly figure descriptions.
- CV (1 page): Include publications and academic progress.
- Recommendation Letter: From a supervisor highlighting contributions.
- Bring National Cookies: To foster cultural exchange!
- Abstract (2–3 pages):
Submit via the Conference Management System (registration required).
Programme Overview
- Presentations: Up to 16 student presentations reviewed by the chair panel.
- Workshops: Discussions led by experts on AT history, trends, and challenges.
- Networking: Opportunities to meet key players in AT and eAccessibility.
Important Notes
- Participation in ICCHP sessions is free for YRC attendees (not applicable if also publishing with LNCS/Open Access).
- Full attendance at YRC sessions is mandatory for selected participants.
